Tilehouse Street Pre-school and Nursery is a charity, and managed by a committee of parent and community volunteers who are the trustees of the charity.
The Trustees are elected in September and receive training in safeguarding and the delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage and meet regularly to oversee the smooth running and development of the setting and its provision. Many trustees serve for more than one year.
As well as looking after the management of the Pre-school and Nursery, they also collect feedback, raise funds and carry out marketing and publicity for the setting.
If you are interested in finding out more about the work of the trustees, please speak to the setting Manager.
“I’m Phil and I’m the Chair of Trustees. I’m dad to three boys, two of whom have gone through Tilehouse and the third has just joined September. I joined the committee in 2015 because I wanted to get more involved with my children’s education. Commuting to a full-time job in London means I’m not normally around much during the day, so being a trustee has given me an opportunity to support the setting in a different way. During the last 5 years I’ve learnt a huge amount about Early Years education, and running a small business. It’s great fun – and rarely predictable!”
My name is Wasim Parkar, my daughter is in the Butterfly Room. I am grateful to join Tilehouse as a Trustee. I wanted to join as a Trustee so I could be more involved in my daughter’s academic activities and help contribute to the progression and future of Tilehouse preschool and nursery. I have seen how great the staff are at Tilehouse and all they do for the kids and as a trustee, I want to make sure we can assist the team in the amazing work they do.
