The Butterfly Room

Our Nursery children enjoy time in a room especially designed with their learning needs in mind.  The room is equipped with an interactive white board, and is set up like a miniature Reception year classroom.

We have a maximum of 12 nursery children per year.

The Butterfly room gives the nursery-age children the space they need to practise school-inspired routines.  They are taught phonics, numeracy and science in an age-appropriate way in preparation for starting school.

The nursery sessions incorporate teacher-led and child-led learning, so that we can continue to nurture our children’s interests while stretching them and preparing them for school.  They spend time with their nursery peers, allowing us to focus on their specific learning needs.  The older children also spend some time playing and learning alongside the pre-school children, as this is an important part of their social development.
